Welcome from the Chairman Jitesh Mistry
As Chair of SGAP I would like to welcome you on behalf of the management committee to the brand new and re-launched group.
In an era of technology the website will become one of the most important tools in letting you know what’s happening, when and how you can join – without your participation the activities we will provide just wouldn’t happen. Our plan is to put on the activities that members want, young or old we want to reach out and ensure you’ll want to participate.
Ok, so what it is we are planning you ask! We’ll still have our favorites such as Bollywood Dance, Bharatanatyam and our Annual SGAP Show. But we’re looking to bring back other past favourites such as Dhol, Women’s Group, Yoga, Sports Day, Cultural trip and SGAP Family Funday, as well as new ones such as Punjabi Fitness, Kerela Dance and Adult Salsa. In addition we’ll be participating in the community, working with other organisations including South Gloucestershire Council, the police through the IAG and other forums such the Safer & Stronger Communities and Equalities Group.
How are we going to make it happen? Well we have a new elected management committee full of talented members all bringing a variety of skills and experience from mothers, doctors, politicians, accountants to IT people. Each one is going to champion an activity, manage it and bring it to fruitation! Easier said than done considering they will be doing this on a voluntary basis in their own sometimes very busy lifestyles, but having seen their passion and desire I’m sure the next 12months will see them deliver. As Chair and with the support of experienced members of the committee we’ll be there to support and mentor the newer members.
SGAP Classes Update!
Kids are back to school and just the right time to enrol then into the SGAP classes. You can choose from Bharat Natyam or Bollywood. Not forgetting the adults and parents we also have Salsa so check the rest of the website for details.
