ABOUT SGAP
Background
In case you haven't heard of us we are an Asian organisation whose goal is to promote Asian culture and activities in the South Gloucestershire region.
The South Gloucestershire Asian Project, SGAP, was
formally set-up with a constitution and an
elected management committee at a General Meeting on 26th March
2000.
We are supported by South Gloucestershire Council in terms
of advice, general guidance and financial assistance.
Membership of the organisation is open to anyone who lives
or works in South Gloucestershire.
In order to help us keep you informed of future events
please fill in the on-line registration form.
Alternatively, ring or write to, Jitesh Mistry, at the phone number or
address shown on the contact page.
Why not get in touch soon and take part in the exciting
activities that SGAP has in store for you!
What Additional Activities Would You Like ?
At SGAP we are aware that we probably
don't reach or provide for all the activities that our paid and non-paid-up
members may want or desire.
As a relatively new organisation,
we are constrained by limited resources and funds, and can
only what fit in what these allow (also bear in in mind that ALL our
work is completely VOLUNTARY).
However,
you can make a difference by letting us know what YOU want,
and by spreading the word and letting your friends and relatives
know about
SGAP.
The easiest way is for them to join SGAP (see below) and
that way we can keep members informed of what's happening:.
At present we provide the following
:
» Bollywood dance classes more...
» Cultural / fun trips more...
» Dhol Lessons more...
» Bharat Natyam dance classes more...
» Newsletters more...
Possible new activites:
» Punjabi Classes
» Dhol/Bhangra Classes
» Indian Cookery Classes
Are you interested in any of
the above? Would you like any additional facilities? Please let us know
by e-mail, or by completing the on-line
registration form or by speaking to any of the committee
members.
Also if you would like to put something back into the Community
then why not join the Committee? Take the opportunity at the next
Annual General
Meeting (AGM) in March 2005, but let us know beforehand if you are
interested.
