Tom Aditya

Tom Aditya

Tom Aditya became the first person of Asian origin to be elected to the Bradley Stoke Town Council. This is a proud moment for all the Asians in South West England.

Tom is a qualified financial adviser authorised by the Financial Services Authority and a social activist working for integration, spreading goodwill and harmony among communities. He is a reliable and approachable friend who is ready to listen and has the experience, knowledge and energy to put things into action.

Councillor Tom is the grandson of the Indian freedom fighter who was also a town father in Kerala, India during the 1950's.  Tom studied Law and Economics at the University and took Masters Degree in Management from California, USA. Even at the young age, he was acclaimed as a good reader and an orator. He was a dynamic student union leader acknowledged for his gleaming intellect and gifted insight. He went into banking, worked through various ranks of management, travelled widely and gained a great deal of exposure. He moved to Bristol in 2002 and settled at Bradley Stoke in 2007. He lives with his wife Liny and children at Champs Sur Marne. He is Chairman and Managing Director of Aditya Financial Services Ltd and has been a successful entrepreneur of several other enterprises too. He works for the marginalised, serving as Chair of the South Glos Council Corporate Equalities Forum and Trustee of the Southern Brooks Community Partnership (SBCP). He also spearheads various socio-cultural associations and community movements.

Tom feels that political differences and cultural diversities should not restrain people from coming together to work jointly for the overall development of the people. He said "This was my first election in the UK and I am thankful to all those who helped me to enter the Council and will continue to work hard for the people in every way that I can along with my colleagues.”

Tom states "I believe that politics should be about positive action; not just words, not just promises and not constant negativity about other parties. I shall be sincere to my voters and shall never let my voters down”. He solicited the support and co-operation of all people in that mission.

Kiron Collett

Kiron Collett

Hi I'm Kiron Collett, I have been married to Dean for 10 years and we have three scrummy kids aged two, three and seven.

After several years of raising children, I have now returned to work and am learning to balance both lives; it’s a tricky job and I admire any mother who does it; any tips would be welcome!

I love horse-riding and going out on girly nights and I’m also enjoying my second year with SGAP. I hope that through hard work we can provide a valuable service to Asians living in South Gloucestershire.

Aman Sood

Aman Sood

Hello, I’m Aman Sood, I’m from the Punjab, I work at Oracle and am married to Shuchi (world class cook and dentist!) with whom I have a six year old son.

I recently joined SGAP so I’m excited and looking forward to contributing to its activities for the betterment of life in our community.

Sports, and particularly racket sports, appeal to me and like Jitesh I’ve also gone a little crazy for golf too, playing and practising as much as possible. You could also call me a food and wine freak. There’s nothing I like better than checking out different cuisines and my travels around the world, experiencing many interesting cultures, have fed into the interests. I look forward to sharing all these with you through SGAP and to enjoying the friendship of many.

Manjula Manigandan

Manjula ManigandanI’m Manjula Manigandan, married and mother of two lovely kids. I am a dedicated hospital doctor, trying hard to make a difference in the community!

Enjoy being a Daughter, Sister, Wife, and a Mother. Yet another role, and hoping to contribute to the community through SGAP.

Nandini Bannerjee

Nandini BannerjeeNandini Banerjee is from Calcutta, she has two great teenage children and whilst once a much travelled journalist, she is now settled in this area. After many years of enjoying the fun and friendship that go with being a member of SGAP, I was surprised and pleased to be asked to join the committee. It’s a chance to be able to put something back into the community.
